Ashley Beard, esq.
Ashley Beard, Esq. has been practicing law for fifteen years. She launched her career in New York City, where she helped build a boutique firm focused on business and family-based immigration. Working with clients ranging from individuals to large companies, she represented clients throughout the Northeast in high-profile cases. She also practiced removal defense in the city and worked with victims of crimes and domestic violence.
Ms. Beard then moved to the Lowcountry, bringing the skills she developed in a major metropolitan market with her. She became a partner at Devine & Beard, where she helped grow the practice in both size and prestige. There she focused on removal defense and family-based immigration and headed the firm’s business immigration practice. She also began practicing family and criminal law in Georgia, giving her the background to serve clients whose cases combine criminal, family, and immigration challenges, and to advise on the immigration consequences of criminal charges.
Ms. Beard is the founder and owner of The Beard Law Group, LLC, a boutique firm practicing immigration law nationwide, as well as criminal, civil, and family law in South Carolina and Georgia. The firm’s mission is to advocate for clients in the Lowcountry while drawing on national experience to bring them the results they deserve.
Outside the office, Ms. Beard is mom to her son, Beau, and has adopted numerous rescue animals from the Lowcountry, including five dogs and one cat.
KIMBERLY PISANI, esq.
Kimberly Pisani, Esq. practices family law, criminal defense, and civil litigation in South Carolina. She joined The Beard Law Group to expand its family, civil, and criminal defense practices. She represents clients in divorce, custody and visitation disputes, parental rights matters, child support modification and enforcement, and juvenile and criminal cases, and she regularly appears in courts across the Lowcountry.
Before moving to South Carolina in 2022, Ms. Pisani practiced at Charles and Concilio, P.C. in Greenwich, Connecticut. She is admitted to practice in South Carolina and Connecticut (retired) and is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the Beaufort County Bar Association.
With five years of litigation experience, Ms. Pisani handles cases from initial consultation through trial, including emergency hearings, temporary orders, settlement negotiations, and contested final hearings. She develops customized legal strategies that balance each client’s priorities, risk, and cost, and she is known for thorough preparation, practical strategy, and responsive communication. Clients value her straightforward advice, courtroom composure, and ability to navigate complex personal situations with discretion and professionalism.
Ms. Pisani is a proud member of the Family Law Institute, a highly selective national network of attorneys dedicated to knowledgeable, effective representation of LGBTQ+ individuals and families. Membership requires a competitive application and review process and reflects substantial experience, professional commitment, and demonstrated competency in family-law matters affecting the LGBTQ+ community. Through both her legal practice and her personal understanding of these issues, she helps LGBTQ+ clients navigate the unique and often complex challenges that can arise in custody, divorce, parentage, adoption, support, and other family-law matters. Her goal is to provide every client with informed, compassionate, and affirming representation while protecting their families, relationships, and legal rights.
Ms. Pisani earned her Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law.
Outside of work, Ms. Pisani is the mother of five grown children and grandmother of four. She and her husband love golfing, walking their three dogs on the beach, and traveling.
